Selvedge Block and QAYG Quilting
Thursday, 28 February 2013
love the coffins, I am doing some too for a purse but had called them stretched hexi's. Interesting names you have!!
ReplyDeleteYour purse is just great and I love the larger 'stretched hexies' you've used, mine are very small. I can't take credit for the name - it's what they're called on the packet, don't know about you, but I find the shape a bit more interesting than the standard diamond and hexie templates :D
DeleteI sure enjoyed re-reading through your Selvedge Block and QAYG Quilting post. This is what I would call a modern sampler quilt, for sure! Love the amazing number of experiments you experienced in the making of this quilt, Chrissie!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a useful quilt, these days I use it as a sampler for my fmq teaching and it's turned out such a great piece for showing off so many techniques :D
DeleteLove the coffins they are very different I haven't seen these before, your twist block looks very interesting, great work.
ReplyDeleteWonderful collections of your older posts, love the coffin shape
ReplyDeleteThanks for the links back to your older posts. I had to laugh as I can so relate to your thoughts on free motion quilting. I was in class the other night and the instructor came over and told me I needed to breathe! Hopefully relaxation will come with time.
ReplyDeleteLol, I still find it tricky to relax - the best fmq I do is when I just don't care what it turns out like!
Deletegood morning thank you for following me- l love your twist block-fun!
ReplyDeletepleasure Kathy :D
