Icicles - Modern By The Yard Free Ezine

Enjoy reading your online copy of the seventh issue of

Modern By The Yard

the FREE e-zine from Benartex showcasing modern fabrics and projects is out now and sharing new prints and 4 new projects.

I'm super excited too that the Cover Quilt is my very own Icicles quilt.

I designed the pattern several years ago and was delighted that Benartex chose to include my pattern in this issue and possibly squealed with delight when they sent me the cover pic.

What do you think of the photoshoot styling? Isn't it perfect? The ice blue shiplap siding and those incredible hanging icicles are incredibly atmospheric.

My Icicles pattern is on pg 16, Issue 7.
The quilt top is made using Color Weave and white solid.

"tiny slivers of textured color pop on a cool white background"

Two great articles are introducing new Benartex fabric collection designers. Both are names you'll already be familiar with, and if you're not, then it's well worth taking a look at their work. Christa Watson of Christa Quilts and Weeks Ringle & Bill Kerr of Modern Quilt Studio. In fact, I've used one of the new Dot Crazy fabrics by Weeks and Bill to back my Icicles quilt - it's called Fun & Games - Blue.

In the Stock Your Studio section on pg 19, there's a great little retractable seam ripper with thread cutter by Clover; I'll be adding that to my 'to buy' list!

Tell me what you think of my quilt and, if you make it, let me know that too; I LOVE to see your versions of my patterns. You can email pics to me or post them to the made by ChrissieD Facebook or Flickr pages. You can also share on Instagram using the #mbcd or #madebyChrissieD hashtags.
