What's the weather like where you are?
In January, to escape the cold and grey and Hudson River wind, I spent 5 days with friends in South Beach, Miami. Walking in the sand and swimming in the sea is a distant memory now but I did visit one place that has stuck in my mind.
While there, I went on an outing to StitchCraft in Boca Raton - it's about an hour's drive north of Miami on the east coast. Knowing how you all love to visit a good quilt store with me - even virtually - I've taken lots of photos to share.
Exploring Florida - StitchCraft, Boca Raton
Here we go... hold onto your hats, there's a lot to see...
We'll start with some fabric,
and more fabric,
and yet more fabric!
All your fave designers, fabric companies and a huge selection of solids.
Thread, books, patterns,
and this is just a small section of the extensive notions walls.
So much eye candy,
and inspiration on every wall and hanging from the ceiling too.
My partner in crime for the day was my snowbird friend, Emily. She'd visited the store before with another member of our NYC Metro Modern Quilters Guild and was keen for me to explore too.
I love this section - Kaffe Fassett, Rowan Westminster and so much yummy colour.
Spot the fish tank 🐟
Here's a glimpse of one end of the classroom. StitchCraft owner, Johanna, was making up kits in the classroom and we were so busy chatting, I forget to take a pic. I do remembering being very taken and commenting on how bright and airy the classroom is.
What an inviting sitting area.
There's a dedicated machine area,
and more machines around the rest of the store too!
As if that's not enough, there's, even more, fabric!!!
Look Who I Met - Cody aka Brody
who just happens to look a lot like someone I know very well.
Love you, Tatty x
And the answer to the million-dollar question?
I think my purchases show great restraint ;D
I also really want to share with you that the staff were super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and couldn't have been more welcoming - don't you just love it when a shopping experience is like that? 😊
Have you visited StitchCraft? Are you lucky to be able to call this your LQS?
Next time you're in Florida, make a detour if necessary, it's worth it.

DeleteStunning! Would certainly appreciate a store like you'll have to drag me out of there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
I think we'd still be there now Camilla if our husbands hadn't arrived to give us a lift to a shopping mall while they went to a car museum. It was a very enjoyable day :D
DeleteOh wow, I'm at my brother's house in Davie, FL, west of Fort Lauderdale so I'm less than an hour away from this shop. And my birthday is Thursday. Hmmm, I may have to make a trek up there.
ReplyDeleteOh I can't tell how much this has made my day, if you make it to the store say "hi" from me too, I know they'd love to hear that you found out about them here. Whatever you do on Thursday, I hope you have the best birthday ever - Chris :D
DeleteSo much to see!!! I would need to rent a truck cuz I'm afraid I don't have the willpower you do, lol.

I am lucky enough to live about 30 minutes south of Stitch Craft. It really is remarkable for the quality and variety of fabric and notions and even more for the friendly and helpful staff. It is a wonderful shop.
