Her Mother's Daughter

Flicky, my daughter, was home for Chrismas - she's in her third year at the University of St Andrews, Scotland.  She had a plan to make two quilts during her two-week stay as well as celebrating Christmas and New Year and she succeeded.  When it comes to hard work and sheer determination she is indeed her mother's daughter.

Her design brief: two quilts to be very similar but different, modern, masculine and including the colour green.

Together we drew up two designs changing only the direction of the block layout and we chose fabrics from Pepper Cory's Peppered Cottons in greys, with greens and a shot of purple and lime to lift them.

Before Flicky headed off to visit her brother in London, then surfing in Morocco and sightseeing in Norway and finally making her way back to St Andrews (I'm coming back as a uni student next time ;D) we managed to squeeze in a photoshoot.

I think that design brief was met don't you and what are your thoughts on me creating patterns for the two quilt designs, would you be interested?

My little girl is turning out to be pretty crafty, just like her Mum ;D
