Essex Linen & Modern Monet Travel Bag Collection

If you're a blogger do you have projects that you make and forget to share?  I've recently discovered quite a few from last year so it's time to air them publicly - here goes!!!

Today I'm sharing a bag collection I made for my Mum and posted over to her last Christmas.  She enjoyed a very handmade Christmas as I also sent her this full collection of goodies for her kitchen - and given that I remembered to blog about these earlier in the year you can read more about them here.

Anyway, back to the bag collection - of course it had to be purple, Mum loves purple, do you remember the purple flower cowl I knitted for her for Mother's Day?

I started with a cosmetic bag...

...and matching tissue cover.

Then I added a lingerie bag - totally necessary for all her trips and holidays and Mum goes on a lot of trips and holidays!!!

And finally a matching tote

and the whole collection together

Mum joined us recently in Seville, as eager as we were to meet Oliver - the latest addition to our family.  I was delighted when I spotted the travel bags in her hotel room, isn't it a fab feeling when you see something you've made being used and appreciated?

Have you ever spotted someone using something you've made?

  1. Hi Chris. That travel set is amazing! I bet you mum was thrilled. I fear I am going to become a crazy fabric hoarder as I just love all the beautiful fabrics you share here on your blog. I think the kitchen set you made for your Mum last year is great gift idea, i will remember that for next year.

  2. Gorgeous set of bags Chrissie! I love the fabric. I just gave my mum one of my latest bags and she was really happy with it. So nice to be able to make things for her after all the years she made things for me!

    1. Which bag was that Jill, I don't remember you blogging about it? Your Mum's back in England too isn't she? I admit to having ducked the role of handmade gift giver this Christmas, unfortunately I'm crazy busy and I thought my family might like a year off from 'made by ChrissieD' presents so Santa's already on his way from M&S land and should arrive at Mum's sometime next Monday - don't think she needs to leave sherry and a mince pie out for the M&S reindeer though ;D

  6. I know exactly what you mean about all the things we make but never blog about them! I usually get 3/4 of the way into a project and think 'why am I not taking pictures?"! Love the bags very much!

    1. Lol, thanks Jayne, I went overboard on the handmade presents last Christmas and obviously took the pics and then forgot all about them after the holiday season - Chris :D
