She's Just Not The Puppy She Once Was!

I've finished it - my applique pet portrait of Tatty is now a 16" cushion complete with hidden zipper using my very own hidden zipper tutorial.

Above the main background fabric is Robert Kaufman Quilter's Linen - Purple, framed with Makower UK yellow gingham by The Henley Studio and below the cushion is backed with Dog Faces by Timeless Treasures.

The yellow gingham is a perfect cover for the hidden zipper.

I've quilted the front of the cushion cover using 1/4" straight quilting lines around the mitred corner gingham frame.

I've free motion straight line quilted an outline around Tatty's portrait and some sections of the applique.

And here she is, Tatty, cuddling up with her much younger, fluffier, whiter self and she's asked me to be sure to tell you that she's currently sporting her short summer coat and expects to look more like her cushion twin some time around Christmas.

(The giveaway is now over)
Today's the final day for my first every giveaway - it finishes at midnight tonight (12:00 AM EST, Tuesday, 3rd September 2013).  I created this pet portrait of Tatty after watching a video class on Daily Craft TV 'Make An Applique Portrait Of Your Pet', and the process could equally be used to create an applique from a human portrait too.  If you enter my giveaway you have the chance to win this class or any one online video class of your choice courtesy of Fons & Porter.

You can read more about my giveaway and see how I created the applique portrait of Tatty here or you can simply use the Rafflecopter below to enter.

Good Luck :D

    1. She's a Havapoo (Havanese/Miniature Poodle) - but her look and personality is mainly Havanese - the only poodle we see is that she's a little bit smaller than a Havanese and her coat isn't quite so silky and has a slight wave in it. Her temperament in incredible, the friendliest, happiest dog we've ever owned - she loves people and animals and life :D
