Packing For Uni - A 'Must Have' Wash Bag

Less than a week to go till Flicky heads off to university at St Andrews, Scotland and we now know exactly where she'll be living, check this out, it's amazing!

It is, however, very tricky fitting your life into 2 suitcases - she's busy wondering how a girl's to manage to take only 16 pairs of shoes; I'm thinking wellies are all she'll need and she's not even taking them, but she is buying a new pair when she gets there!

There're a couple of other essentials that she's made room for in the case: her favourite quilt which is the first quilt I ever made;

and the pillowcases that I made for her earlier this year;

 and this week she decided she 'must have' a new wash bag ... so, of course, I obliged.

The laminate is Soul Blossoms Blue Velvet, Trailing Orchid by Amy Butler - it's super soft and incredibly shiny (so lots of reflection in this pics) and the lining is Mini Flamingos by Timeless Treasures

I like to think that she'll think of me every time she uses the bag, but the reality will probably be quite different, as it should be!

(The giveaway is now over.)
There's still plenty time to enter my first ever giveaway to win an online video class of your choice from Daily Craft TV - closing 12:00 AM on Tuesday, 3 September.  You can read more about it on my Applique Pet Portrait post or just enter using the Rafflecopter below.

Good Luck :

    1. She tells me today that she's whittled the shoes down further to 9 pairs (and they're just winter shoes - she'll take summer shoes back with her after Christmas). She's got everything into her two cases though which has totally amazed me, mind we'll buy toiletries/bedding/towels/books/stationery when we get there. At least she's in catered so we're not having to go down the 'equip a kitchen' route that we did with the two boys! :)

    1. We're so impressed with how they're looking after her there Victoria, our two sons have both been through the Uni system in England but they didn't have a set up like this.

      It's funny that you say about her friends wanting my work, she's already had several requests for quilts so she's told me that I have to hurry up and open my online store so she can point them at that and she says she wants sales commission!!!

  15. Wow! What an amazing Halls! Hope Flicky enjoys University, and I'm sure she will think of you and of home when she uses all of your lovely makes -although admittedly it won't be all the time! But it will be nice for her to have them when she's missing home every once in a while.

  18. 16 pairs of shoes... LOL!!! The priorities we have at different stages of our lives. How wonderful for you, though, that Flicky's taking your first and her favourite quilt!!! I haven't heard the term wash bag used since I was a little girl just starting school. It looks great and I'm sure it's been well used.

    1. Can you believe it Pam?! Lol to wash bag, I just thought everyone said it, living here in America now I should be well aware that I don't use the same words for things as everyone else!
