Home-sewn Face Masks

Home-Sewn Face Masks by www.madebyChrissieD.com

Ready for when we start to venture outside the home, I decided to sew-up a couple of face masks.

This is a link to the Olson face mask pattern (V3) that I've used.  The Olson mask was developed by clinicians of UnityPoint Health and is named after a creative 1930's nurse, Lyla Mae Olson.

Face Mask Warnings
Masks are not designed or intended to prevent, mitigate, treat, diagnose or cure any disease or health condition, including COVID-19/Coronavirus. Masks are intended for general public use only. They are non-sterile. Face masks are not a replacement for medical-grade Personal Protective Equipment, and in circumstances where medical-grade Personal Protective Equipment is recommended, you should consult a health care professional.

The decision to make a mask is solely your own. Masks are intended for adult use only. They should not be used by anyone with skin sensitivities or placed on children under age 2 or anyone who has trouble breathing or who is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.

Use of face masks is not intended to replace other recommended measures to stop the community spread of COVID-19, such as social distancing, washing your hands and refraining from touching your face. Follow the latest advice of the CDC and your own health care professionals as to how best to keep yourself safe.
