Sashiko Snowflakes
Last weekend, two of my quilts were hanging at the Quilt & Sewing Festival of New Jersey.
The first is my Colour Drop Quilt.
The first is my Colour Drop Quilt.
In the next pic, you can see my quilt hanging alongside our #NYCMetroMod Ugly Quilt #1 - a round robin with each section added by a different person and the one rule was to use only ugly fabrics. It's often the way that when ugly fabrics are put together in a quilt they become quite stunning as a whole, this quilt is a testament to that. The gorgeous purple quilt is made by my friend Christine Economos and called 'I See Stars'. It's a beauty with stunning colours and all Kaffe Fassett fabrics.
My second quilt on display is one I haven't shared with you yet, my Spiralling Blue mini-quilt. Mine's top row, far left.
The quilts were hung as part of an NYC Metro Modern Quilters Guild Special Exhibit.
I headed over to the show earlier last week on Set-Up Day to hang the quilts with Cynthia, our President and Caroline, our Membership Chair.
We had a fun time and learnt a lot in the process - all good to know for next time stuff.
I've already posted all the pics I took on our Guild blog, so instead of repeating myself, here is the post link. Head over to see the other quilts we displayed too.
You're probably wondering what this post has to do with Sashiko Snowflakes, well I'm just getting to that bit!

After setting up I took a minute on our way out to say "hi" to my friend, Susan Sato of Easy Piecing, who was setting up her vending booth.
It was fun to see my Harlequin Quilt sample hanging in the booth and the kit and pattern for sale.
Susan also has kits available for three Sashiko Snowflake patterns I've designed for her.
← Available as the centre of a table runner kit that Susan has designed (with or without backing/binding) or as a set of 3 individual designs →
The Sashiko Snowflake Kits and The Harlequin Quilt Kit are available from the Easy Piecing website and also on the road at the Easy Piecing vending booth. You can click through to Susan's website to see her full list of vending gigs for 2017.
The Harlequin Quilt Pattern is available in PDF format from my pattern store.
It's exciting to see my designs made into kits, and such a thrill to see people buy them.
I took this photo of me with Susan super quickly and sadly it's not the best, if we're going to collaborate on more projects I think we need to get ourselves a proper promo shot, lol 📷
