    1. It's really amazing and looks so authentically 16th century Tudor rather than a 90 year old revival building. Well worth a visit - we stayed about 3.5 hours!

  2. You made me EXTREMELY jealous! It's beautiful in London and I'm so glad you shared your pictures for drooling! :) I love your purchases! Isn't fabric extremely expensive overseas? Watch out for overweight charges at the airport... Have a GREAT rest of your stay!! (And keep sharing photos! :)

    1. You're so right about fabric prices back in England - I've paid the equivalent of $18-$19/metre for these - imagine how thrilled I was to get back to the hotel room and check them out on Fabric.com - all on offer for $8.98! Have to say though that they don't look as pretty on the internet as they really and I wouldn't have bought them based on those images. I just got so carried away with the atmosphere :(

    2. Sorry, but that last sentence made me laugh since I could picture myself doing the same thing :)) Did you need a separate suitcase for the flight back for the new purchases? :)))

    3. No, we'd packed one case light on the way over to allow for anything we wanted to bring back so we were fine :)

    1. Fab isn't it. I'll be pouring over all the mags, etc, that you've sent me to find inspiration for the fabric :)

    1. Absolutely, could have spent the whole day there but had to leave after 3.5 hours before I spent any more money! :)

  8. Lucky you. I have fond memories of going fabric shopping at liberties with my mother. I am sure your daughter will too when she is older.

    1. Absolutely Cynthia, but can't believe that while I was at Liberty you were visiting The City Quilter and Purl Soho!

  10. Chris, were the prices good on those US fabrics in London? Cuz CQ has most of those prints . . . just sayin' ;o)

Welcome back! When do we get to see yoU?

    1. No Ivete, I've paid way over the odds for the fabric - a terrible $18-19/metre. It was really silly of me but it all felt so lovely at the time. I'll have to be strict with myself next time I go back and not buy anything but it's so hard when it's all scrummy and lying there in front of you! I'll probably pop in during the week as I did at least have the sense not to stock up on solids while I was away and I need some to make the quilts I have in mind :)
