The Green Green Grass Of Home

The old home town looks the same as I step down from the train and there to meet me is...
...my friends, my Mum, and all my kids
lyrics by Curly Putman (apart from the last bit which is all mine!)

Occasionally I ask my readers to indulge me while I share a post that's less about my craft and more about my family; this is one of those posts.  I know some of you love to see what my kids are up to these days and something of where I'm from, so for you here are four photo collages summing up my April 2016 trip home to England.  On the other hand, if that isn't your sort of thing please click and close me down, I won't be offended, and next time you visit everything will be back to normal - Chris :D

Around London

Meeting Friends (Reading, Bath, and London)

So good to have a day with my Mum (Birmingham)

and one night only with ALL my kids
together for the first time in 18 months

There are no words - it was pure bliss to be home :D

  3. I love looking at family photo's and what people get up to outside of their quilting world. I've never been to Birmingham before, only passing through onto somewhere else. Of course I've seen all the lovely buildings on TV so I feel like I know the place anyway haha. I recognised the statue in St Pancras as I took a photo of my daughter there as well :)

    1. We had such a giggle at St Pancras Lesley, Joe and Katie are both actors and can always be relied on to put on a show in public - on this occasion it was copying the statues. The photo I shared of Katie is incredibly tame, you can only start to imagine how they copied the statue of the kissing couple ;D

  4. There's no place like home and no one loves you like your family, it's nice to see you visiting all your loved ones!! I can't imagine living so far away from my family. Glad you enjoyed your visit!!

    1. I have a wonderful life Nini but living so far away from my kids, grandson and mum is too painful for words. Thanks for commenting so kindly, most people who aren't in my position tell me that at least I've got Skype these days and that's true but it's not the same as having everyone sat around your kitchen table laughing together x
