I'm delighted to be joining Windham Fabrics today on Day 1 of their Christmas in July 2017 Blog Hop, sharing their brand new Bread and Butter Joy holiday collection.
The collection has 3 fabric designs - candy canes, holiday text and a snowflake inspired diagonal stripe in 4 seasonal colour ways - black, green, red and white.
I've made a raw edged circle applique quilt that's always a hit when I teach it as a class. The quilt top and binding are worked using 5 fabrics from the Joy collection on a white solid background and I'm backing my quilt with Cardinal solid red from Windham's Palette collection by Marcia Derse.
Black and white bindings are always a winner and I've used my pattern matching tute to join the binding strips.
And now for the giveaway!

Christmas In July Blog Hop For Windham Fabrics
When Windham's fabric bundle arrived, I knew it would be perfect for my raw edge circle applique quilt. The quilt measures 26" x 35", it's small with huge impact, makes a great gift for a baby or small child and, come December, I'll be using this one as a seasonal wall hanging.
Do you love raw edge applique as much as I do?
The colours really are striking and are calling out "HOLIDAYS"!!!
The Windham Palette backing fabric has an uneven dye effect resembling a hand-dyed fabric and adds way more interest than a full solid ever could.
Black and white bindings are always a winner and I've used my pattern matching tute to join the binding strips.
Fancy making make your own Ellipse baby quilt/wall hanging?
The great news is that you can as later this week I'll be releasing the Ellipse pattern in my Craftsy pattern store. I'll announce the release via social media so follow me if you'd like to know more.
When you purchase the pattern, you'll have exclusive access to my full raw edge circle quilt instructions and tons of tips, previously available only by attending my Manhattan classes.
My fave Christmas song 😍 is the controversial 1987 Fairytale of New York by The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl. Hugely popular in the UK, I've thoroughly enjoyed my last 7 Christmas Eves walking the streets 🚖 of Manhattan and singing this with my kids. If you're struggling with the lyrics ❔❕❔ here's a link so you can read them and a Wiki link explaining the background to the song.
This giveaway is open to US + International entries and closes on Sunday, 23 July 2017 at 8.00 pm (EST). A winner will be chosen from the comments using a random number generator, contacted via email and shared here in this post. Giveaway bundles will be mailed directly from Windham Fabrics to the winner.
AND THE WINNER IS!!!
Barb wasn't on her own in naming her fave Christmas song as Blue Christmas by Elvis Presley - Ioleen and Nancy B love it too and I can't agree more especially as I've had Elvis' Christmas album on vinyl (remember those days?!) since it's Camden re-release in 1975.
Many congratulations Barb, I've sent you an email asking for your snail mail address so be sure to check your junk folder if it isn't in your inbox. :D
